MAIRIDH means everlasting in Scots Gaelic (pronounced like the English word "marry").
We create timeless, beautifully made jewellery - crafted with traditional quality and designed to endure. We believe jewellery holds a quiet power: it can transform how you feel and give you confidence. Each of our collections is inspired by this idea of empowerment.
A note from our founder, Eilidh
"My route to creating a jewellery brand has been a little unconventional. I used to be a PE teacher! I moved from teaching into sports events and secured a role within the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, collaborating with Scottish artists and manufacturers to create bespoke merchandise for staff and volunteers - quite a change from the sports hall, but I loved it.
After the Games, I moved back to our small family farm in Aberdeenshire and took some time to think seriously about what I wanted to do next. I can still remember the moment the idea of starting a jewellery business came to me. I was on maternity leave with my eldest child and genuinely thought I could have the whole business up and running by the end of mat leave. Ten years later, here I am - on website edition two and finally feeling like I’m getting somewhere.
At first, I thought I’d hire designers and makers to bring my ideas to life. I already had three degrees - but none in jewellery or design. I quickly realised the only way to see this idea through was to learn how to make jewellery. So I took a job doing admin in a local jewellery school and, over time, largely taught myself.
My inspiration comes from everything around me - from the raw beauty of the Scottish landscape to the character of old city buildings - always seeking what is real, true and naturally beautiful. Building this brand while raising two children has been challenging, but the joy and fulfillment I feel when my work is well received makes it all worthwhile. I put great care into the quality of everything I create, and I hope that’s reflected in every piece."
